The Standard does not apply to electrical power supplies incorporated within equipment. <\/p>\n<p><b>Scope<\/b><\/p>\n<p> This Standard sets out requirements for the design, construction and testing of isolated electrical supplies for medical use. <\/p>\n<p> The requirements are applicable to the electrical supply reticulated to electrical outlets, equipment and accessories in patient treatment areas and to freestanding supply systems that might be used to supply a single patient location. Such systems might be part of the fixed electrical installation or incorporated in an emergency trolley (&#039;crash cart&#039;) used to upgrade temporarily a patient treatment area to be used to undertake a body-type procedure or a cardiac-type procedure. <\/p>\n<p> This Standard does not apply to electrical power supplies incorporated within equipment.
