This International Standard specifies dark storage conditions, storage facilities and procedures for the handling and inspection of reflection prints of all types and sizes.<\/p>\n
This International Standard is applicable to prints on the following opaque supports:<\/p>\n
fibre-base paper;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
RC (resin coated) paper;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
pigmented and other types of plastic supports, e.g. polyester, cellulose acetate;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
fabric, e.g. canvas, linen.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
This International Standard is applicable to the following processed black-and-white silver gelatine prints:<\/p>\n
wet-processed, including those that have been chemically treated to improve the permanence of the silver image and\/or to modify its colour, e.g. with gold, selenium or sulphur formulations;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
diffusion transfer, e.g. Polaroid and Fuji Photo Film instant prints1<\/sup>;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n stabilization-processed (which contain the silver image as well as invisible, chemically stabilized silver halides).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n This International Standard is applicable to the following processed multicolour and monochrome colour photographic prints:<\/p>\n chromogenic, washed and stabilized;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n silver dye bleach;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n dye transfer;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n diffusion transfer, e.g. Polaroid and Fuji Photo Film instant prints1)<\/sup>, peel-apart or integral;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n pigmented gelatine, e.g. carbon, carbro.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n This International Standard is applicable to black-and-white and colour prints made with the following systems:<\/p>\n thermal dye transfer (commonly referred to as dye sublimation);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n thermal wax transfer;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n electro-photographic;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n dye and pigmented ink jet;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n swellable and porous-coated media supports;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n diazo.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Recommendations for storage of photographic films and storage of processed photographic plates are given in ISO 18911 and ISO 18918 respectively.<\/p>\n This International Standard is applicable to medium-term and extended-term storage conditions, as defined in Clause 3.<\/p>\n Humidity during storage <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n Temperature during storage <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n Temperature\/relative humidity relationship <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n Distinction between originals and copies made for active use <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n Air-entrained and gaseous impurities <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n Fire protection <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n Silver and colour image degradation <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n Cold storage practices <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n Print stability <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n Imaging materials.
