AWWA C203-15 Coal-Tar Protective Coatings and Linings for Steel Water Pipes
Published By | Publication Date | Number of Pages |
AWWA | 2015 | 60 |
This standard provides minimum requirements for coal-tar protective coatings and linings used in the potable water supply industry for buried steel water pipelines. All AWWA steel pipe coating and lining standards are written for and based on the service temperature of potable water. For operating temperatures higher than the normal temperature of potable water, consult the manufacturer for recommendations concerning temperature limitations for coal-tar protective coatings and linings. Major revisions made to this edition, many of them to be consistent with other coating and lining standards, include the following: The title of the standard was changed. All references to exterior coating and interior lining were changed to reference only coating and lining, respectively. The definition for potable water was added. The section on cleaning and blasting was revised. Cathodic disbondment testing was added. The section on sand shield was deleted. The ASTM reference for coating thickness measurement was updated. The section on Delivery was modified.
