Examples of such<br \/>\napplications include LAN devices supported by IEEE Std 802.3 DTE<br \/>\nPower, wireless access points, TIA-862 building automation and<br \/>\nsecurity devices like remote cameras, IP telephone and multimedia<br \/>\ndevices supported by IEEE Std 1394-2008.<\/p>\n<p>The guidelines in this TSB are considered to be in addition to,<br \/>\nand not in place of, the infrastructure specified in the<br \/>\nANSI\/TIA-568-C series of Standards. The TSB covers the transmission<br \/>\nand electrical parameters needed to support power over category 5e<br \/>\nor better balanced twisted-pair cabling. The guidelines address<br \/>\nvarious environmental conditions related to the installed cabling,<br \/>\nbundled cabling, cabling in conduit, different cabling categories<br \/>\nand cable types, and how these may impact the capability of<br \/>\nbalanced twisted-pair cabling to support remote powering. This TSB<br \/>\nprovides additional guidelines with respect to:<\/p>\n<p>a) parameters needed for remote powering;<\/p>\n<p>b) references to safety standards;<\/p>\n<p>c) different installation conditions that require special<br \/>\nconsiderations;<\/p>\n<p>d) application considerations;<\/p>\n<p>e) mitigation considerations; and<\/p>\n<p>f) cabling configurations and related field test<br \/>\nconsiderations<\/p>\n<p>The cabling systems detailed in this TSB are designed to be used<br \/>\nto support SELV power, as defined in IEC 60950-1.
