Both apply heat which the<br \/>\ntotal connector systems is exposed to with no insulating medium<br \/>\n(e.g. printed circuit boards) between the termination and connector<br \/>\nassembly. In addition to heat, the vapor phase system employs a<br \/>\nchemical medium (perfluoro-carbon) in a vapor form. Connector<br \/>\nmaterials are exposed to these mediums and thus must withstand both<br \/>\nheat and chemical vapors. There are three basic features which must<br \/>\nbe evaluated prior to a material or connector configuration being<br \/>\nacceptable for surface mount process.
