All safety aspects of these appliances, including those relevant to the noise emitted, are only covered when the appliance also complies with the relevant product standard for the fuel-burning appliance.<\/p>\n<p>If the appliance incorporates electric heating sources, it also has to comply with the relevant Part&nbsp;2 of <span class=\"std\"><span class=\"std-ref\">EN&nbsp;60335<\/span><\/span> .<\/p>\n<p>Additional requirements for appliances and machines with moving parts and intended for commercial use are given in Annex&nbsp;ZE.<\/p>\n<div class=\"non-normative-note\">\n<div class=\"note-label\">\n  NOTE&nbsp;101\n <\/div>\n<p>Examples of appliances within the scope of this standard are<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>central heating boilers;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>commercial catering equipment;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>cooking appliances;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>laundry and cleaning appliances;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>room heaters;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>warm air heaters;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>water heaters.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"non-normative-note\">\n<div class=\"note-label\">\n  NOTE&nbsp;Z1\n <\/div>\n<p>Examples of appliance for household environment are appliances for typical housekeeping functions used in the household environment and appliances for typical housekeeping functions used by non-expert users:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>in shops, offices and other similar working environments,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>in farm houses,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>in bed and breakfast type environments.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"non-normative-note\">\n<div class=\"note-label\">\n  NOTE&nbsp;Z2\n <\/div>\n<p>Household environment includes the dwelling and its associated buildings, the garden, etc.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>As far as is practicable, this standard deals with the common hazards presented by appliances that are encountered by all persons in and around the home. However, in general, it does not take into account<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>persons (including children) whose<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>physical, sensory or mental capabilities; or<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>lack of experience and knowledge<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>prevents them from using the appliance safely without supervision or instruction;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>children playing with the appliance.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This standard has to be applied in conjunction with the relevant standards for appliances and for control devices.
