1.1 This test method covers the estimation of the steady-state rate of transmission of a gas through plastics in the form of film, sheeting, laminates, and plastic-coated papers or fabrics. This test method provides for the determination of (1)<\/span> gas transmission rate (GTR), (2)<\/span> permeance, and, in the case of homogeneous materials, (3)<\/span> permeability.<\/p>\n

1.2 Two procedures are provided:<\/p>\n

1.2.1 Procedure M<\/span><\/span> Manometric.<\/p>\n

1.2.2 Procedure V<\/span><\/span> Volumetric.<\/p>\n

1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.<\/p>\n
