G60-01(2007) Standard Practice for Conducting Cyclic Humidity Exposures (Redline)
Published By | Publication Date | Number of Pages |
ASTM | 2007 | 4 |
The procedure described is used to observe the behavior of steels under exposure conditions that retard the formation of a protective type of rust. It is also used to evaluate seal coat on insulation.
This practice should not be used to rank steels that form a protective type of rust under atmospheric exposure conditions.
1. Scope
1.1 This test method covers procedures for conducting cyclic humidity tests with a corrosive dip. It sets forth the conditions required in cyclic humidity testing.
1.2 This practice does not prescribe the type of test specimen or exposure periods nor the interpretation to be given to the results.
1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.
1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to consult and establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
2. Referenced Documents (purchase separately) The documents listed below are referenced within the subject standard but are not provided as part of the standard.
